EVANGELISM 2024
Evangelism 2024
My sister, Lynn and I are as close as sisters can ever be. Our Mother trained us in the way of the Lord. She read through the book, “Child Guidance” 7 times, and with power from heaven she trained us up in the way that we should go. She taught us to sing duets together at a very young age, (3-5 years old), and she had us memorize the scriptures, one verse a day, until we could recite the entire books of Daniel and Revelation. We could recall any verse people would ask us. That has blessed me all my life as I study those precious books more deeply. Our mother truly sacrificed everything in her life for us girls. We three had a very deep love for each other which was born of heaven. We never, ever, saw our mother upset or angry. To me as a little child, I remember thinking that my mother was Jesus! My sister and I have never had an argument, disagreement, or a fight in our entire lives. We truly love each other, and the passing of time, and the ocean’s distance between us only gives us more love to God and for each other.
Here is an example of how mother let God lead her in child training. One day mother must have detected some wrong spirit in the house, and she kindly asked us to each find a spot in the forest to sing, pray, and read the Bible. We were renting a house on 250 acres of land in Virginia, so it was easy for me to find a stump in the front forest to sit and connect with God. My sister went to the pine forest in the back of the house. I was about 6 years old and my sister was 8 at the time. We really loved that time with God! From that day on, my sister and I formed a habit to go to our special place and have our devotions every morning. I clearly remember day after day walking back to the house, so happy, singing hymn number 308, “Wholly Thine.”
One morning when I was 8 years old, I came in from my worship and I bluntly said to my mother:
“Mother, I think I should die now!”
I don’t know what kind of thoughts rushed through my mother’s mind when she heard my short emphatic statement, but mother was always calm. She simply asked me why I thought that, and I replied:
“Because I really love Jesus, but I see others when they grow up, they forget about God and do bad things and I don’t want that to happen to me!”
Well God did not let me die at that tender age. Although I have not always done everything that pleases Jesus, He still had a plan for my life and work for me to do for His kingdom!
With this background of tender heavenly love between, Lynn and I, you can see how excited I become when I travel to America and see my sister from year to year.
The actuality of my sister coming to the jungles of Thailand was the last thing we ever dreamed of happening. But God has incredible ways to make His will known. I planned to only stay in America for 2 months last summer, but miraculously, for the first time, I had not purchased a return ticket to Thailand. First, Jon Wood asked me to go to Europe with Him, his wife, and Tim Maddox. I heard God say, “GO!” Next, I thought I could go back to Thailand for 3 weeks, then fly to Germany to meet our group, but my nephew, Rusty, earnestly asked me if I could please stay with them to share my series of programs with his family of 6. I was longing to return to Thailand, but I felt God’s call to my heart to stay. Praise the Lord, the Holy Spirit really took control. After one of my presentations, they asked me what I needed them to pry for in my ministry. I told them to please pray for an evangelist, because we have evangelism every December in my village. Usually, as I present across America, a pastor is convicted to come and preach, but this year everything fell through – the doors all shut. So, they prayed for an evangelist to come to my village. During that prayer, unbeknownst to me, Lynn had a strange but clear voice in her thoughts which simply said, “You could do that!” She was shocked at that thought. It was definitely NOT from her. Later that evening, I had a chance to talk to BletJhaw in Thailand. I told him that we still did not have an evangelist. Every plan had fallen through. Then BletJhaw simply said: “What about your sister?” My response was negative. I felt she would never consider doing that. Her life had meaning. She taught Bible classes to her grandchildren, plus her health is not that good. During breakfast the next morning I told her what BletJhaw had said. You would have thought she had been electrocuted, as she caught her breath.” She told me about her forceful, provoking thought during the family prayer the night before. We could both see the hand of the Lord in these events. At first my sister did not want to go. She was happy in her life work, and living in the country, because she was working for God there. She thought she would never survive a trip to my primitive village in the jungle! But the call was clear, and she was convicted that God was calling her. She is so close to God that she would obey no matter what her feelings were! It was an earth-shaking, stunning miracle of the Lord to clearly call her to preach for our Evangelism in BYT this year, but we were so delighted because we knew He would bring on the power in direct proportion to the astonishment of the call!!
Right here let me express a beautiful thought: God called me to help my sister in her work of training her grandchildren, and in turn, God called her to help in my work for the people in BYT and surrounding villages! We are, and have always been, a team together, my sister and I!
She arrived in Thailand November 28, and though the trip was long and hard, she did very well. It was overwhelmingly exciting to greet her at the airport! God kept her well and strong the entire time.
These evangelistic meetings brought more power from the Holy spirit into our jungle mountain than we could ever have imagined. From the first night to the last, our little church was packed with over 120 people! They came from many different villages. There were SDA church members, Baptists, Buddhists, Animists, devil worshipers, ghost worshipers, and those who were trapped in their own customs, superstitions, sacrifices, sorceries, curses and ignorance. Night after night they sat transfixed as my sister, filled with the Holy Spirit, gave many visual illustrations, brining the Three Angels’ Messages and the righteousness of Jesus simply to their hearts. The Baptist pastor from WST was there listening intently and taking notes! (I have been praying for him for 15 years)! Many patients we had invited when they came for treatment in our clinic were there, along with opium addicts and backslidden church members.
Lynn’s first visit to the market!
Her presentations were based on the 3 Angel’s Messages! She sermons were simple, yet powerfully profound, explaining the importance of the Ten Commandments, the Sabbath, the judgement, and the wrath of God, and why it is so important to put on Jesus robe of righteousness, and the simplicity of how to get it! She used visual aides which gave understanding and put the people in rapture.

We were blessed with beautiful heavenly music by Jonathan and Hannah Hill and Harvey and Brenda Steck! Each night one, two, or all of them sang before and after the sermon. Always so good to hear Jonathan at the piano!! Their music was so inspiring.
Lynn, BletJhaw, and I were such a team with Jesus as our leader! How we pleaded for the Holy Spirit’s power. Every night BletJhaw would interpret in the very best way that the people could understand. The Holy spirit’s power and presence were palpable night after night. It was none of my sister’s power or anyone else. It was all God!! God miraculously gave my sister good health and strength beyond what she had in America! She did not get sick or exhausted, nor did she suffer prolonged jetlag.
Lynn’s final appeal to the people was a comparison of Mary Magdalene and Judas’ character. She said: “
Following this we progressed to the river to see 4 precious souls receive baptism. These are dear jungle people we have worked with for so long and love so much! The last lady pictured here has complete kidney failure, and is on peritoneal dialysis. She was concerned about being baptized because all the tubing and port in her stomach must stay dry, however, she longed to get baptized. I had many things in my clinic that I used to seal off that area for her. It remained totally dry! Thank you dear Lord! The man in the red, being baptized is her husband.
Night after night our little church was totally packed! Precious people receiving the precious truth!
Since that time, we have seen our church attendance increase a little. The new church members come regularly with eagerness and joy! I also feel more power from the Holy Spirit as I preach from week to week. My sister told me later that she felt closer to God during that time than she’d ever felt before. Also, she experienced more of the Holy Spirit than ever before in her life! We cannot take any credit for anything here. It is none of us and all of God and God alone:
My beloved sister and I carrying mother’s torch to the kingdom, with all those whom God has used us to reach by His grace alone. To God be all the glory, Amen
