A Lesson in Cleanliness and Order!

Bradley, Blet Jaw and I returned to BYT last Thursday.  I will say more about that in the next post!  Micah stayed behind at LKY as he has been teaching all grades English and it was now time to give final exams.  In our absence he decided to make good use of his time and thoroughly clean and organize his house.  As he worked on the shelf just above where he sleeps he suddenly spotted a snake.  It was coiled around the post which is right next to his head when sleeping!  Nobody else was near at the time and seconds count when you encounter snakes, they dissappear without a trace very quickly, but then may return.  There are so many different types of snakes here, that it is our policy to count every one of them extremely poisonous.  Micah found a machete and with great courage smote it several times.  It was now cut in half but several inches away from the snake's head.  The creature fell down under the house.  2 boys soon joined Micah to hunt it down and chop it into many small pieces!  It was discovered that this snake was indeed extremely poisonous.  What if he hadn't been inspired to go through his belongings and clean and organize?  Truly as Mrs. White states:  "Order is heaven's first law."  There is great reward in heeding God's counsel.  As Micah related this experience to me over the phone the next morning I was filled with gratitude to God.  Why do we need to fret and be anxious about the dangers of the world we live in?  God's ways are past our latest thoughts and feelings, before we call He answers and while we are trembling and faint at heart, He is in control and at work to do us good.  Through His providences He is teaching us to rest ourselves and our children completely in His hands by His grace alone.
