Sudden Onset of Chest Pain!
I felt it this morning. No, it was not my heart, I run most every morning and feel very strong and well. No, it was not my lungs, they are not congested, I do not cough. There is no TB, cold, asthma, shortness of breath, bronchitis or pneumonia. It is not from trauma or contusion. I have had no accident or blunt truama. Praise the Lord for all the above!I was on the porch treating the sick once again, as I used to do before last April when we moved to BYT. Today some dear people I knew from one of my favorite villages came for treatment. As I checked them over, I saw a man who I had taken to the hospital in Mae Sot many times for his eyes. They had done surgery on one eye, but he did not respond well to it. The vision in the other eye was not real good, but they gave him glasses which helped. Today he had stomach pain and as he came I noticed he acted clumsey. Upon inquiry, I discovered he had lost all his vision for the last 3-4 months. He had stomach pain and his overall appearance was not good. The other man with him had severe pain in the neck and shoulders. He needed surgery at a large hospital in Chiang Mai and the money had not come through to send him. Another blind man came up also with stomach pain, slowly picking his way up the driveway. I treated what I could of their maladies, made an appointment with the one to see an eye doctor about his blindness and than stood watching them, crude stick in hand slowly walking away! Oh dear Saviour, tender sympathetic friend of us all, when you were here, they did not walk away from you just as sick as they came. They returned home in strength and joy, seeing, believing and whole. Oh precious Saviour, we were told we could have that power from you, but I am so sinful, so weak, so prone to doubt. Help us to be able to really help them. There are so many young and old, sick and dying ones surrounding me each day. Help my unbelief, help me to help them for Your sake.Yes, you guessed it, my chest pain was nothing physical, nothing metabolic. It was the pain of the mind. Unchecked sympathy for these people. Heartache for a world filled with suffering, sickness and dispare. A world in desperate need. Look up, for so soon He comes to turn our chest pain into songs of joy and gladness, to see the pain and suffering wiped away forever.
